MSI X-Slim notebook aims at MacBook Air
Since the debut at CeBIT earlier this year of its 13.3in screen slim notebook, MSI is gaining momentum with their X-Slim series of notebooks. And for one simple reason.Due to their MacBook Air-like appearance.
I am not sure if guys at MSI had their mind set on making their own very thin but powerful notebook which just happened to resemble Apple’s ultra-thin alternative or …Whatever is the case MSI’s aiming even higher by announcing two new additions to the X-Slim series - the 14in X400 and the 15in X600 with the release date in the second quarter of 2009.
The X-Slim X400 and X600 have set records in their size categories -both for lightness and thinness . The 14” X-Slim X400( with super slim Li-poly battery) weighs only 1.5kg, and the 15” X-Slim X600 at just 2.1kg with battery. Less than one inch thick, both models boast 16:9 theater-class LED screens, full I/O ports, and Blu-Ray support. Aiming at the users with need for superb media experience, the X600 also comes equipped with a discrete graphic card to maximize visual performance.
Still there is no official price tag on these models but we do know that the X-Slim X400 will come with an optional 8 cell Long-endurance battery, The larger X600 is available with a 9-cell extended life battery. By adopting external ODD drivers that will further keep the X-Slim series notebooks slim and trendy, MSI in on right track when it comes to keeping up with current market trend.
